Sealife ReefMaster DC100 Digital Land & Sea Camera
Whether on land or sea, the SeaLife ReefMaster DC100 can accommodate all your digital photography needs. The DC100 is considered the world's first dedicated underwater digital camera. Rated to 100 feet, the camera can be set to three different exposure programs--land, sea, and sea with external flash--with a flip of your finger. The large 1.8-inch LCD makes aiming easy and the instant review and delete function practically guarantees great pictures on the spot. The camera comes with 8 MB on-board memory (as well as a CompactFlash expansion slot). To take shots of on-land subjects, simply remove the camera from its clear waterproof housing, set it to the "land" setting, and shoot as a traditional digital camera. SeaLife 3X Close Up Lens and Underwater Filter
Underwater photography has some difficulties, which SeaLife's 3x macro lens/underwater filter helps to overcome. The lens coating filters the blue colors so common in underwater environments and enhances the lush red and yellow colors of various aquatic creatures. The filter also reduces backscatter, a phenomenon in which the flash reflects off small particles in the water, creating white dots in the picture. Originally almost
all photographs were black and white. Although
methods for developing color photos were available
as early as the late 19th century, they did not
become widely available until the 1940s or 50s,
and even in until the 1960s most photographs were
taken in black and white. Since then, colour photography
has dominated popular photography, although the
black and white format remains popular for amateur
photographers and artists. Black and white film
is considerably easier to develop than color.

Most traditional photographs
are produced with a two-step chemical process. In
the two-step process, the film holds a negative image
(colours and lights/darks are inverted), which is
then transferred onto photographic paper as a positive
image. Another widely used film is the positive film
used for producing transparencies, usually mounted
in cardboard or plastic frames called slides. Slides
are widely used by professionals mostly due to their
sharpness and accuracy of colour rendition. Most photographs
published in magazines are still originally taken
